Become a Supporter of the Mayan Solidarity Campaign!
Your solidarity with Mayan Guatemala will help transform the lives of indigenous communities.

Far-right President Alejandro Giammattei’s military government in all but name is in the process of a dramatic democratic backslide, and the cultivation of an environment of impunity and unbridled, corruption, extra-judicial police killings, evictions on behalf of multinational extractive industries, and increasing attacks on Mayan human rights defenders and journalists has us extremely worried. His destructive programmes for the native Mayan rights enshrined in the Peace Accords, his granting of concessions in the Peten rainforest, the backslide on all forms of rights and freedom of expression must not go unchallenged. We must also be vigilant in standing with those fighting for justice and public health at this extremely difficult time for Mayan Guatemala. Our flagship campaign, Justice for Chiul, can be found here.
The Mayan Solidarity Campaign is committed to standing shoulder to shoulder with the millions of progressive, trade unionist, black, women, LGBT, Mayan, Xinca, Garifuna, Mestizo and other Guatemalans under threat from the emboldened far-right.
